Abstract:
Oral presentations competence among higher education students is of vital importance. At our institution, we have a subject in which students must learn and practice how to deliver oral presentations. In this subject, each student is assigned a topic to research, create a presentation about and present it to their classmates. To enhance this crucial skill, a collaborative feedback process assisted by Artificial Intelligence has been designed within the subject. This process aims to improve students' creation and delivery of future oral presentations. This process involves two key components. Firstly, classmates evaluate various aspects of the presentation using a rubric, the instructor completes the rubric and provides a report on the student's presentation. Secondly, a Generative Artificial Intelligence approach utilizes these qualitative and quantitative evaluations from classmates and the instructor to generate automatically high-quality feedback for each student. Students then receive this feedback and can rate it through a satisfaction questionnaire. They find the feedback adequate and highly value it, as it proves extremely useful in enhancing their oral presentation skills for the future.
