Abstract:
Under the “EUROPE 2020 - a strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth” perspective the growth means also high levels of employment in a cohesive society. Labour force participation should be increased through investing in skills in view to respond to the demands of the (new) jobs that require high qualifications. The need of “creating opportunities throughout the lifecycle require the possibility to acquire and develop new skills throughout the lifetime” is driven mainly by the continuing ageing population trend (already visible in Romania), the global competition and the accelerate technical progress. In this context, becomes of crucial importance the interest for anticipate (not only on short time but also on medium and long time) and manage the change through dedicated mechanisms as functional components of a modern labour market. The National Vocational System FPC made already some progresses like the: occupational standards, professional training standards, occupational profiles, the accreditation of the anterior learning, the authorization system of the training providers, etc. Following on this trajectory, there are new opportunities for the vocational training in Romania and the training fields variety, induced by the needs of labour market developments in the knowledge economy paradigm.Keywords:
