Abstract:
Contribution presents actual findings from a research which was aimed to chart a composition of the Czech elementary school teacher’s community from the point of view of their approaches to the innovations. The research derives from the Roger’s Diffusion of innovations theory and it aims to the elementary school teachers and their approach to innovations. The basic research tool was a Kankanrinty questionnaire which was adjusted for the Czech environment by Černochová. The questionnaire was distributed in a printed and electronic form. 249 respondents participated in the research. Females prevailed (94 %) what corresponds to the distribution of the Czech elementary school teachers by gender. The results of research are compared to the Roger’s distribution and the error margins are annotated. The results can be summed up that a curve charting the distribution of approaches of Czech teachers which participated in the research is shifted towards innovators in a volume that can be characterised according to Rogers as the early majority.
