Abstract:
This paper aims at the discussion of opportunities and challenges of deliberate, subsequent approach to previously considered design problem. The observation is based on Architectural Detail design studio conduced for Interior Architecture students. During the one semester course students were encouraged to explore and improve selected task and ideas in their own research and investigation field referring to their formerly realized design undertakings. Student proposals provide a route from unlimited outbreak of their creativity, through the preliminary design project review to rational technical considerations and final conclusions. This deliberately made route is a chance of exploration of completely new fields of interest, for example: new materials and technologies as well as development of student specific cognitive tools. Exploring new design areas and incorporating sub-problems triggers student’s engagement and conscious creation of their own designer’s personality. The introduced design process is monitored by intermediate reports, surveys and closing comparative analysis. Keywords:
