Abstract:
"I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand."

Learners of language can only become proficient language learners when they display their creative critical thinking skills through the language they are acquiring. This simply means we cannot neglect the importance of critical thinking from the curriculum of language. The curriculum of the language classroom should enable students to combine responses and ideas, elaborate complex stimuli and thinking patterns, accept, reject or suspend judgment about a claim and identify and cite good reasons.
The workshop will emphasize on the importance of practicing critical thinking skills in the language classroom. Later on, the participants will be given communication mode activities such as analyzing and elaborating on songs, poems, images, films, pr3 “ose and quotations which they will describe, define, personalize and discuss. The session will end with the participants working on creating their own critical thinking materials specifically considering the needs of their own students.
