Abstract:
Universities are increasingly offering more diversified programs and degrees in order to reach a wider audience. Because of the COVID-19, many higher education institutions were obligated to move to the virtual learning environment. Such disruption altered the international landscape of education. To attract and engage students in the new learning environment, universities implemented innovative learning techniques such as gamification and virtual reality. Such an approach offered students a tangible virtual learning experience. This paper aims to investigate and analyze the different modalities and use of technology in online education employed by universities in Europe and the United States. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of virtual learning and interactive educational environment. The methodology used in this paper encompasses a qualitative analysis of literature view. The use of technology in education is crucial as it prepares students to emerge into the digital world. It also helps them to become more independent and self-confident. Well implemented e-learning tools can be self-paced, problem-oriented, and interactive. Technology and digitalization of education foster personal growth and development, helping students become well-rounded individuals globally.
