Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the field of reading literacy in preschool children. In connection with reading literacy, we focus on areas and activities that are used in kindergartens to support and develop them.

The theoretical part of the paper focuses on explaining the concept of reading literacy, defines the areas covered by this issue and points to the area of perceptions that are necessary for its development.

The research part of the paper is qualitatively focused. The main goal of the research is, on the basis of theoretical explanation and empirical comparison, to carry out research on preschool curricula in the Czech Republic and Denmark, at the level of the intended, implemented and achieved curriculum. Qualitative content analysis will be carried out at the level of content domains, where we focus on areas - physical, mental and social and within the areas or components of education. Furthermore, an analysis of curricular descriptors will be performed, where we monitor the presence of a specific curriculum and the expected outcomes. The results of the analysis of the Czech and Danish Curriculum for pre-primary education will be compared and evaluated in the monitored areas in the context of trends in education.
