A REFLECTION OF THE ATTITUDES OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS TO THE PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH IN RELATION TO THEIR COPING STRATEGIES

The aim of the described research was to compare the attitudes of pre-service teachers to the concepts associated with the psycho-social aspects of health and their reported strategies of coping with stress. The research sample consisted of 355 prospective teachers of different teaching specializations. As a measurement tool for measuring the attitudes of future teachers was elected three factors of semantic differential measurement. From the point of view of the current holistic model of the concept of health were future teachers to measure their attitudes to the selected psychosocial components of health presented the following concepts: Friendship, Future, Sleep, Personal computer (laptop, tablet), Self, Stress, Health, Disease, Psychological dependence on technology (PC, cell phone, internet ...), Interpersonal communication, Relaxation, Old Age. Further students‘ characteristics were also identified, related to the examined issue, such as the compensatory mechanisms of short-term and long-term stress, the preferred leisure and physical activities, and eating habits. Other indicators were: the studied field, the type of completed secondary school, gender, and the highest achieved education of parents. From the obtained data we compiled the semantic overview of the investigated concepts for the individual groups of respondents. Differences between groups of respondents were further compared using the Student's t-test and analysis of variance ANOVA.
