Abstract:

The main goal of this paper is to identify the importance of information technologies in an organization from the point of view of university students. The study was conducted on students of the Faculty of Management at University of Warsaw. They were carried out using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method on a sample of almost 900 people. In preparing the study and conducting it, the authors used the experience from their previous studies. As a result of the study, it was made the specification of the opinions of future users regarding the place and role of IT in the organization. The main aspects highlighted in the work are the shortcomings in theoretical IT education resulting from the experience of the proper use of IT technologies in the organization. The article presents the problem against the background of literature, presents the methodological assumptions of the research, presents the results and discusses them, and provides synthetic conclusions.
