The main purpose of this article is to analyze students' knowledge - the essence and possibilities of practical application of cloud computing and fog computing. The research was performed using the Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI) method to evaluate of knowledge level about these phenomena. The questionnaire prepared for this purpose was first verified with the help of experts in the field of modern information technologies, and then made available to students. Questionnaire was designed to check general knowledge about cloud computing and fog computing and was quite detailed for example: pros and cons, types of implementation in economy, technologies used to disseminate it, constraints and stimulators of it in the nearest future etc. A group of more than two handred randomly selected students from university was examined. The structure of article consists of the literature research, description of methodology and the research. the research process included: preparation of special questionnaire, placing it at servers of Faculty of Management (University of Warsaw) analysis and discussion of research findings and drawing conclusion with recommendation of the future investigations. The main finding of the research are that the students have only a general awareness cloud computing and fog computing and they are lost in details. Their knowledge source based only on obligatory theoretical Management Information Systems (MIS) lectures at university and Internet. It seems to be too small to use cloud computing and fog computing in economic environment and should have impact on didactic program. Keywords:
