Abstract:
The study of orthogonal projection is a basic subject for future civil engineers, architects and designers, contains the perception of the composition and decomposition of orthogonal views of figures (front, top and side), particularly geometric solids. High school students present difficulties in spatially visualizing three-dimensional geometric solids, which drives the demotivation of these students. The research focuses on a narrative review of the study of orthogonal projections with the help of 3D technology in the area of technical drawing. The investigation of the papers took into account the years 2017 to 2021 to understand in that period what are the contributions of 3D technology in the study of orthogonal projections in the field of engineering. For the search, the Scopus database was used, 29 papers were found, of which 10 were subsequently selected because they met the adopted inclusion criteria. 3D technology brings positive contributions to the study of orthogonal projections by allowing a detailed visualization similar to reality. This work leaves open future research on the applicability of digital applications in the study of various topics of Technical Drawing and Descriptive Geometry.
