Abstract:
There are relatively few studies that seek the informative voice of principals on their experiences and understanding of reflective practice to promote lifelong learning in their roles as curriculum leaders. The Objective Knowledge Growth Framework (OKGF) is a self-directed reflective tool, which enables teachers to develop the habit of reflection. This study describes one elementary principal’s views of how the OKGF was used to explore issues surrounding the professional development of teachers within her school. It relates the principal’s understanding and observations concerning the challenges and benefits of using OKGF as a form of professional development. It also discusses how both administrators and staff can use the OKGF as a reflective tool to promote learning.
