Abstract:
This study investigated the effectiveness of a structural-communicative approach in teaching Russian to native Chinese speakers for business communication. Employing H. Yude’s linguistic principles, we developed a multifaceted linguistic mastery construct and implemented the “Russian for Business Communication” program at Huzhou University. The research adopted an empirical methodology, focusing on the correlation between the foundational elements of Russian and their application in business contexts. Results from the experimental group demonstrated significant linguistic improvement, with average scores increasing from 4.3 to 7.8, outperforming the control group’s average of 6.9. These findings underscore the vital role of the structural-communicative approach in the early stages of language instruction, advocating its integration into curricula for international students or those learning Russian as a secondary language. The study provides insights into effective language pedagogy, emphasizing the importance of structural methodologies in fostering linguistic competence in a business environment.
