Abstract:
The present investigation is intended to study the student teachers’ Environmental attitude. The objectives of this study were to study the Environmental attitude of student teachers, to compare Environmental attitude of male and female student teachers, to compare Environmental attitude of rural and urban student teachers, to compare Environmental attitude of science and non science student teachers and to compare Environmental attitude of Marathi and English medium student teachers.
The null hypotheses for this study were, there will be no significant difference in the environmental attitude of male and female student teachers, there will be no significant difference in environmental attitude of rural and urban student teachers, there will be no significant difference the environmental attitude of science and non science student teachers and there will be no significant difference in the environmental attitude of Marathi and English medium student teachers.
The population was the student teachers, while the sample includes 416 student teachers from eight Colleges of Education in Pune city. The researcher used standardized Taj Environmental Attitude Scale developed by Haseen Taj as a tool for collection. Mean, Standard Deviation and t-test are the statistical tools used for analysis of data.
The conclusions are the Environmental Attitude of student teachers is entirely positive, the Environmental Attitude of the male student teachers is significantly more than the female student teachers, the Environmental Attitude of the rural student teachers is significantly more than the urban student teachers, the Environmental Attitude of the science student teachers is significantly more than the non science student teachers and the Environmental Attitude of Marathi medium student teachers is significantly more than the English medium student teachers.
