Abstract:
The Universitat Jaume I (UJI) of Castellon has been teaching Industrial Engineering studies from 1993. These studies were in the past a five years pre-Bologna curriculum and now they are developed under the Bologna approach.

One of the objectives of these studies is that the students have ability to use different computer tools to support manufacturing activities and decisions. Therefore, two main capabilities have to be achieved by the students: management capabilities to manage the manufacturing computer system development and implementation project, and technological capabilities to understand the possibilities of the information systems to support and to improve manufacturing business process.

This is the aim of the Manufacturing Computer System course (MCS) developed inside the UJI computer engineering degree. This paper shows the methodology and learning solutions used in the MCS course. Paper shows the MCS course objectives, the target competencies, the course contents, the assessments, and how the technology resources are used to teach the subject.
