Abstract:
The active methods for teaching and learning contrast the traditional teaching methods, taking on innovation characteristics in the various areas in which they have been used. The increasing use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) has revolutionized every sector of society, including education. This has had an undisputed and innovative impact on education, as shown by the advent of Online Education Programs. Despite evidence showing good results for combined applications, as in the case of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which uses online education programs, there is poor acceptance of possible convergence of the active teaching methods for teaching and learning and the DICT. This work aims to analyze the importance of the active methodologies in the use of the DICT in online education programs, the relation of learning skills and strategies used for continuing education and the use of knowledge acquired on the job by professionals who do online courses. The empirical research methodology analyzes the evaluation of tutors participating in courses offered by the Center of Health Technologies and Online Education of the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil (Universidade Federal do Ceará) in relation to active methodologies and the use of DICT.
