Abstract:
The social revolution aroused by the phenomenon of globalization requires the rethinking of methods and resources in higher education in order to adapt educational offer to new realities and new audiences. Different educational models such as e-learning, b-learning and m-learning seek to respond these new requests and began its incursion into university educational models. Following this line of action, a pedagogical model of virtual learning environments developed by ISLA Leiria have emerged for the purpose of improving an innovative and high quality teaching methodology that stimulates autonomy and self-regulation learning. This papers aims to demonstrate an experience of virtual leaning in Higher Education which has already confirmed its success. Adopting an active tutorial model based on the proximity between the tutor and the students and characterized by continued support, the virtual pedagogical model created by ISLA allows the introduction of concepts such as flexibility and collaborative learning in higher education building a dynamic and attractive educational context.
