Abstract:
Nowadays, using the Internet has been recognised as a basic component of citizenship education and its incorporation into several aspects of the school approaches is unavoidable. Nowadays, several resources are available online, but their uses within classes may vary depending on the use teacher devises for them, therefore a critical analysis of these tools is needed. In this paper, we present some applets that might promote training mathematics among primary teachers, thus emphasising their didactical purposes. An applets selection – as teaching tools for future teachers – was used for training primary teachers in the geometry theme. Using a qualitative approach we did an exploratory study in order to present the applets used in the future teachers’ classes in their Geometry Curricular Unit and also we aimed to report the students’ perceptions of the applets analysis as tools to teach mathematics in the first school years. As main results enthusiasm and motivation of the students using the Internet applets by opposition to their “dislike” and grades in the Geometry Curricular Unit from their degree as Elementary teachers.
