Abstract:
With the introduction of the degree to dentistry, prevention and public health course has been teaching in the first year of studies. Its theoretical content is complemented with practical applications that include prevention strategies in oral health and measures for the study of the Community from the standpoint of public health.

We believe that students in first year, because they lack an overview of the specialty due to their limited knowledge, could especially benefit from incorporating this new tool in the development of their teaching. During academic year 2010-11 we have started, supported by an educational innovation project awarded by the UCM, incorporating in the VC of the matter practices and arisen problems that have allowed the student to have the material in advance and enter the times they’ve believed necessary allowing individualize learning.

Allowed us to make signs, communications and performing virtual tutorials to work groups or customized through the campus internal mail of the subject and setting, sometimes through forum, discussions of issues raised that have encouraged participation among students voluntarily .

From the point of view of the teacher, keep track more continuous and close with the student and reinforce those areas where difficulties arose or observed, it is a particularly useful tool in large groups such as the first courses of university because they provide a virtual but effective approach to the student.
