Abstract:
The recent pandemic state brought the enhancement of digital skills training needs, a large part of the current activity being supported by online tools. However, the on-line activity adoption came with various challenges starting with the internal organization IT infrastructure, the internet connection bandwidth, cybersecurity, and not in the last place, the digital skills of employees. The paper presents a study concerning the digital skills training needs, conducted over 200 subjects, from two major Romanian universities during the period of 2018-2020, using the Technology Acceptance Model as a research model. The study verifies the research hypothesis regarding the need for training for digital skills enhancement and, by comparison with the previous academic year, the pandemic impact over digital skill training needs. Furthermore, the inquiry is detailed over major segmentation criteria of the respondents, by age, sex, residence, graduate studies, and field of activity. The paper also debates the rising trends for the post-pandemic state over the digital skills evolution.
