Abstract:

The current pandemic COVID 19 situation, forced some national governments, to suspend the face-to-face educational activity, during the Spring semester of 2020. The interruption of on-site education brought a new challenge and an opportunity, as well, of the rapid adoption of cloud-based solutions for on-line education. The paper presents the pre-pandemic on-premise information systems used and further cloud modules deployed to assure the user management, class configuration and course content delivery, as an education support process. However, the study was conducted in two Romanian universities and one primary school. Furthermore, the paper also discusses the specific challenges of data migration and the initial set-up of more than 30 000 courses and thousands of students, in the new academic year beginning. Also, specific lineouts for content delivery and examination using Moodle and Office 365 are presented. The study is completed by a compared on-line education process management inquiry.
