Abstract:
Traditional didactic resources are still being used in some of the schools in Ecuador, especially in some of the rural areas of the country. This traditional approach causes learning to become monotonous for students and reduces the motivation for learning subjects. In addition, school teachers do not effectively combine technological tools with those already implemented, producing an inefficient knowledge transmission to students. Therefore, this research aims to analyse the introduction of a motivational technology, such as Augmented Reality, so that school teachers have an alternative for the transmission of knowledge and thus understand the importance of using different teaching/learning techniques to achieve better results in students,

The methodology used in the research work is grounded on a quantitative nature, based on scientific data and the methods to be used will consist of a case study applied to students of tenth year of basic education school at Ecuador. Furthemore, surveys will be used to obtain the perception of students and teachers with the introduction of augmented reality in their education. Results after surveys were carried out with students and interviews applied to academics, determine that there is an improvement in the academic performance of the students, therefore It is considered positive to introduce Augmented Reality as a complementary educational tool in Ecuador.
