Abstract:
The Spanish universities have launched a large number of issues regarding the orientation and individual help for the students. The promotion of the tutorial action in higher education provides an answer to the generalized concern about the new needs of the university itself and that of the students who access it. In this communication, the Tutorial Action Plan (PAT) is described as implemented in the faculties of the University of Alicante (Spain) since 2006. Its origin, its key aspects, its structural organization and the reach of its influence are exposed. Eventually, the results of the evaluation of this experience which is performed by tutors and participating pupils are detailed, including the strengths, the weaknesses and the proposals for improvement. Specially, it has been underlined that design a training program is essential in order to increase their tutorial skills. On the other hand, they consider that set up new procedures for programme evaluation will contribute effectively to their quality.
