Abstract:
Nowadays, technology plays an important role in daily lives of people, within the university educational field, ICT’s are considered as work tools that complement the teaching-learning process, on one hand helping teachers in their regular activities and on the other hand helping students in the knowledge acquisition and skills development for professional formation. Labor skills require mastery of a second language. Educational institutions must be concerned about providing sufficient means to be master of a second Language. Hence, this research aims to determine how technologies help teaching and learning, in the development of skills for mastering a second language in college students; likewise is to recognize the importance that motivation has on students, according to the learning theories, it is the main linchpin for the subject to be able to carry out concrete and actions with a better performance, in this case, motivation will be analyzed from the English-Learning perspective supported with ICT’s. According to the objective, it will investigate how teaching and learning with ICT’s influences the development of the English language skills, for that reason it will analyze the four basic language learning skills for a second language which are: speaking, listening, writing and reading, all of them supported with ICT’s, which according to research reports provide flexibility for students and teachers in teaching and learning in this area. In order to meet the objective set in this research, it is to implement a methodology with a sequential mixed type approach under a pre-experimental design and through a control group and another random chosen with pre/post-test; participants will be bachelor students form Centro Universitario de Los Altos, both groups will be monitored during a semester in order to evaluate the learning and development of the skills and compare the influence of ICT’s had in this process. We are currently working on the measuring instrument design which will be used to measure English Language Learning with ICT’s on students.
