Abstract:
The objective of the research was to assess the formation of soft skills in postgraduate students through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning methodology. The type of study used was a quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope. The study sample consisted of students enrolled in the first semester of the postgraduate level belonging to the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. The instrument used to obtain the information was a questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (not developed) to 4 (highly developed). Once the instrument was built in its initial version, to verify the content validity, the expert judgment technique was used and to measure the reliability of the scale, Cronbach's Alpha was calculated, where a value of 0.847 was obtained, therefore which was deemed reliable. The main results were that the participants developed in a consolidated way soft skills in the domains of decision-making, critical thinking and assertive communication. With a moderate level, the student body developed the skills of adaptability, self-management, empathy and teamwork. The conclusion of the study is to permanently incorporate postgraduate academic training as an active methodology to Project-Based Learning.
