Abstract:
This study is inspired by a previous work, published in 2012, and results from a research initiated within the scope of a curricular unit of the Master in Pedagogy of Elearning (Universidade Aberta - Open University, Portugal). Therefore, the objective of this exploratory study is to continue the research previously carried out, in which the purpose was to assess the level of research carried out in Portugal on games and mobile learning. The time period defined for the current research was between 2012 and 2018.

For this purpose, the documents of RCAAP (Scientific Open Access Scientific Repositories of Portugal) corresponding to the defined descriptors and criteria were identified. A total of 6 studies fully met the requirements for the formation of the corpus. Based on a meta-analytical strategy, based on the MAECC® (meta-model of analysis and exploration of scientific knowledge®), progress has been made in the treatment and analysis of these documents.

The meta-analysis allows us to conclude that the authors favored the study of pragmatic and concrete applications, aimed at meeting specific needs found in the work environment, whether in formal education or informal learning. The predominant research method was qualitative, structured in the form of description, analysis, implementation and evaluation of projects.
