Abstract:
A skilled workforce that has the necessary knowledge, competencies, skills, talent and creativity is becoming an important source of business success. The level of human capital can be raised, whether through formal education or through various forms of education and training at the workplace. From the point of view of businesses and organisations, education and professional training are among the most important investments in human capital. The importance of education has two main dimensions. From the business perspective, it affects performance, productivity and competitiveness of the company. From the point of view of individuals - they acquire knowledge, skills and abilities, which increases their chances of finding their place on the labour market, their price on the labour market and thus their wages as well.

The company should keep the fluctuation as low as possible. High fluctuation disrupts active processes within the company and has a negative impact on its costs as well. It is often less costly for a company to invest in the training and retention of its employees than to invest in the recruitment process. This is one of the reasons why professional training is nowadays seen as an important and to some extent inherent part of personnel work, especially at management levels. The business education system is a recurring cycle, which is based on the principles of business education policy, pursues the objectives of the business education strategy and is based on organisational and institutional prerequisites of education.

In today's constantly changing environment, employees need to be permanently trained and develop their skills and abilities, as knowledge acquired in secondary schools, colleges or various courses is often not sufficient. Continuous education and also development increase the quality of education, skills and competencies acquired so far. Flexibility, adaptability and proactivity are among the basic features required by employers. Human resources are an important competitive advantage of an organisation and therefore should not stagnate, but strive to improve not only their professional knowledge, but also the so-called soft skills, which include communication, time management, teamwork, organisational skills and so on.

The aim of the paper is to elaborate the issue of business education on the basis of domestic and foreign literature and already acquired research knowledge and to describe the current state of affairs in the education of employees.
