Abstract:
Introduction:
Linking process at the Universidad Veracruzana is defined in The Strategic Work Plan 2013-2017, as the procedure through the University tends to the society needs, looking after and solving environmental problems. Thus, Universidad Veracruzana constructs and actively participates in strategic networks and important alliances with public, social and business institutions in order to keep its functions, and in the same way, Universidad Veracruzana pays attention to important issues such as social and economic development of the Region. The Universidad Veracruzana Dental School includes these actions and the researching projects construction in order to complement the academic formation of its students and solve these needs.

Objective:
The objective of this Project is to provide preventive care to the dental problems of the population that attends to the Community Dental Attention Brigades.

Metodology:
The Veracruz Adult Education Institute makes an Invitation to the Dental School of the Universidad Veracruzana to participate in its Community Alfabetization Brigades by giving dental services that solve dental needs and at the same time, attend multidisciplinary social needs and developing activities that complement the students’ academic training in the contents of different learning experiences. At the same time, these actions improve the oral health of the community through the application of Prevention Programs developed in Community Attention Brigades that are performed by IVEA. Scheduled activities were prophylaxis and fluoride application when it was necessary, always seeking to establish the optimal conditions to the patients attending to the Community Alfabetization Brigades. Dental extractions were also performed in patients requiring the service. These activities were planned with special attention of the Clinic Space taking care of the barrier protection wear, dental instrumentation for extraction was provided by Dental School of the Universidad Veracruzana. It was performed an important classification of the cases that could receive the dental services in these conditions. Those cases for which it was not possible to provide dental service, were transferred to Dental Clinic of the Dental School by the Local Government.

Characteristic:
This is a Project that is developed in the field of promotion, both the health and the lifestyle improvement of the community in different areas. The brigades are performed in urban, suburban and rural areas, and they have the objective of contribute to sustainable development of the region. Participating students develop activities that are included in their educational programs, but applying them in a real scenario, allowing them a greater learning.

Relevant results:
38 Medical Records were made, 38 Prophylaxis and 21 Extractions were performed.

Conclusions:
It is very important to note that clinical activities in real contexts such as the Community allow students to learn from the social reality of our organization on oral health, identifying the importance of introducing the population in literacy programs and also could keep objectives of several Educational Experiences, thus allow the Veracruzana University to participate in the development of the region.
