Abstract:
In order to talk about ecotourism ( currently known as tourism of nature) in Mexico, we need to talk about the preservation o both the natural and cultural heritage of our towns, promoting the idea of sustainable economic development at the same time. This topic holds high importance as environmental and cultural oriented tourism strengthens our identity, it allows us to preserve our ecosystems, moreover it is fundamental to generate productive investments that help create jobs, bringing as a consequence social progress and economy flow.

This is why we need to promote and develop ecotourism in Mexico by contributing to seeking and planning solutions that will lessen its complexity with perspectives that will tend to strengthen the eco-touristic projects which originate from research centres, educational institutions, civil partnerships, non-governmental organizations, and communities that play an active role in eco-touristic projects.

Investors and tourism entrepreneurs are turning their attention to this market segment, as it represents a promise of return on investment.
