INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROJECT OF RECEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE

The development of innovative educational projects is important in the quest of contents, environment building and students’ learning opportunities. Projects are carried out on the basis of research, study cases and real issues under a “Complex Thought approach”. In this view student’s work is linked to methodologies, latest research developments and results as in the disciplinary as in the professional field, accompanied by the use of general and specialized information and communications technology in the professional field. Simultaneously, the proposal may allow improving graduation rate to cause an impact in the Dental Surgeon Educational program’s graduation efficiency by running a project which provides attention to students going through the Receptional Experience.

Objective:
To increase the graduation efficiency rate in the Faculty of Dentistry.

Methodology:
Support strategies were established through the use of ICT which allowed improving graduation efficiency by concluding and presenting the defense of the works in the Receptional Experience forums. Forums were planned and structured, so they could contribute and increase the academic production quality, as well as to reinforce the generation lines and the knowledge application of the academic bodies in the state. Through this, new professionals have higher possibilities to integrate the competitive work field much more quickly and efficiently.

Results:
This project allowed improving significantly the graduation efficiency indicators with the presentation of 42 works, which favored the ER accreditation, so 55 students could obtain their bachelor’s degree.

Conclusions:
This work enabled to conclude research works with rigorous methodological requirements and to obtain the accreditation as well. Online work was constant and had beneficial results, such as the use of the virtual library of the Universidad Veracruzana. This Education innovation makes possible students’ understanding about the importance of the collaborative work and so the benefit to contribute in the oral health improvements with a global perspective of the studied issues.
