Abstract:
Meeting equilibrium between mankind’s needing and earth’s loading capacity to guarantee the existence of life for future generations, it is a complex task for those who inhabit this planet. It is necessary to keep a limit for human activities if we aim to prevent the destruction of diversity and the ecosystem functioning.
If it is true that natural resources are vital elements for human life, also it is a fact that this equilibrium can be reached. In this search, teachers and students from higher education institutions must be involved in order to run programs that contribute with this purpose.
That is why sustainable tourism in Veracruz had emerged in the recent past years as a central topic for all government’s levels, because environment friendly touristic activities can make us closer to our traditions by exploring sites such as prehispanic cities in our State, and also can be used as an alternative for attracting foreign and local capital investment projects, which can contribute to create formal employment, social progress, economic growth and human development.
In this study, we present the work developed in this area by Universidad Veracruzana’s Administration School, specifically in the town of Veracruz, and its results at this point.
