Abstract:
In this work we present the results of the application of agile methodologies in the organisation of some courses at Rey Juan Carlos University. In particular, we refer to courses that do not have agile topics in their programs, e.g., the course in Software Quality.

We have obtained excellent results using Scrum as a model for the practical work within a course, at both the teacher level, as well as at the student level. One of the first results attained using Scrum is the possibility for students of using agile methodologies as a working method, so that they can use it in their future careers.

In addition, students have achieved a competitive advantage. Knowing and having used Scrum as working methodology is a very positive point when looking for a job. Luckily, this will rank them higher than other candidates, because few universities cope with agile methodologies in depth, whilst companies seldom ignore such skills.

From the teaching point of view, using Scrum as a model for practicing almost anything within a course, has reported us very good results, for both the classroom work itself and the assessment process. Scrum topics covered include Sprints, Product Backlog, and Reviews, among others.
