Abstract:
Lately, the open online courses freely accessible via the web have been increased, developed under a variety of learning platforms, such as traditional learning platforms, courseware, mooc’s, etc. most on the strongly based on a multimedia contents.

Two key features seem to be prevalent on this type of contents: open access and scalability. In this sense, the University of Vigo has been developing a course named “Curso0” oriented to students from High School to prepare them for the first course at the university, in many engineering basic training disciplines.

The idea of “Curso0” was born as a result of the implementation of various projects in collaboration with other universities. Thus, one of the most common problems found in the technological and scientific teaching lies in the difficulty of students to get adapted to higher education because of the "jump" from High School to the college. The experience of the “Curso0” is reflected in the large number of hits.

Until now, major contents of course cero were pdf and html documents and there was a lack of multimedia contents.

As a part of the University of Vigo “Curso0”, in this paper it is shown the Chemical Equilibrium complete course based on all the elements of new learning technologies: documents, conceptual learning pills, problem solving learning pills and self evaluation (quizzes and exercises).

This design corresponds to a General Chemistry introductory course to the engineering disciplines, divided on four tips: gas, pH, solubility and redox equilibria. For each part multimedia support as documents an evaluation tools have been designed.

All the contents have been implemented on a University of Vigo openmooc server.
