Abstract:
The Master in Automation and Remote Control for Management in water resources and energy is a new proposal of an official degree with different Spanish Universities, where the Miguel Hernández University (Spain) is the coordinator of Master, in collaborating with teachers from other Spanish Universities and Research Centres. This Master consist of 36 obligatory credits, 18 optional credits (two orientations), and 6 credits, linked with master thesis. It is a bleanded learning Master, with a main component on-line using moodle platform. The subjects of the Master are varied and follow a defined subject matter, where automation and remote control contribute to the sustainability of water resources and energy in a scenario where water scarcity, a low quality of water and a limited energy are growing every day. The first subjects of the master including a description of the most important automatisms is developed, subsequently the basis and several applications of automation and remote control, and the last subjects are about the use of elements of automation and remote control in the management and use of water resources and energy. Aditionally, the planning and valuation of automation and remote control is developed. The aim of this paper is the presentation of a Master's organizational scheme adapted to the educational needs proposed by the Bologna process and its implementation, using the moodle platform and new communication tools (Adobe Connect Pro, Skype,...), and explaining the administrative complications to integrate Universities and Research Centers under different agreements. Aditionally, the proposal of a linked Doctoral Degree for this Master Degree is developed.
