Abstract:
Effectiveness of the Web-based learning environments depends on to present the knowledge to the students in different ways. An on-line learning environment which is enriched with the structures such as voice, videos, graphics and two or three dimensional animations can provide the students more permanent and enjoyable working environments.
The aim of this research is to evaluate the web-based learning environments in terms of pedagogy, technology, interface design, assessment dimensions and to make contribution to the improvement of online courses. This study’s participants are the students who have been attending to undergraduate and postgraduate (master and doctorate) programs and at the same time taking online (WEB CT) courses at different faculties of Anadolu University. A Web-based Learning Environment Evaluation Scale, which is a five point likert type and consists of 85 items, was developed to gather data. This scale was developed depending on the bases of the structure proposed by Khan. After reliability and validity studies were carried out data was collected by means of this scale. The criteria for evaluation of educational website guide the ones who are willing to prepare website and who prefer working on this area.
