Abstract:
This article presents the results obtained from the educational activity Escape Classroom in the subject of Materials Science and Engineering of the Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering. The Escape Classroom has been divided into several challenges, which students in groups must overcome to achieve the final code that prevents the explosion of a nuclear power plant. Each challenge of this activity is based on the content taught in the different topics of the subject, and therefore is carried out at the end of the semester. After implementing this activity for 2 academic years, it has been proven that the main benefits are related to an increase in the participation, interest and motivation of students, as well as a significant improvement in their ability to assimilate content. The introduction of this new Escape Classroom activity has led to a decrease in the rate of students who do not attend seminars and an improvement in the grades for this activity. Furthermore, it has been shown that there is better assimilation of content by students, which has led to an improvement in the final grades of the subject. On the other hand, the results of the student surveys showed that the majority of students positively valued carrying out this activity as reinforcement to improve the assimilation of the knowledge acquired during classes. Finally, the students have considered that this activity allowed them to develop skills such as group work, the applying theory to practical problems and the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the real environment. Keywords:
