Abstract:
ElectricField VR is an application in virtual reality (VR) that proposes a different way when addressing topics related to the theory of the electric field, seeking to be interactive, simple software that contributes to user teaching and learning through the use of the VR.
For this reason, this software was developed using the Oculus Rift virtual reality glasses through the Unity platform and video game engine, also made in order to add new improvements with respect to the previous version developed within the same research group, consider the APP in its first version allowed the user only through the spatial recognition of the controls and the Oculus viewer the interaction of positive (+) and negative (-) point electric charges, showing in a three-dimensional scenario in real time both the position as orientation of the electric charges and the behavior of the lines field and electric force that interacted on them, so this new software, in addition to the above, allows the user to interact with a new object within the same stage, which is an electric bar represented with a 3D figure in the form of parallelepiped, being able in the same way through a menu to choose if you want to create, eliminate or modify the value of a point electric charge or a electric bar, thus being able to simulate some of the different examples that are studied within the field of physics, specifically within Gauss's Law.
As a consequence of the above and considering the training process that is working within the ALICE group, more specifically in the research project " Development of technological products for the teaching of basic sciences based on new technologies ", it is sought through development of these new alternative applications in teaching and learning methods in contents related to physics, chemistry and mathematics, which allows both students and teachers to use new tools or innovative materials that serve as support within the education. Keywords:
