Abstract:
In this work it is proposed an academic model for online education, which integrates the electronic technology with the education to conform a system as just one element.
Online education, when seen as the future standard, has to be conceived as a new educational process and not necessarily as a part of academic model of the present education. The online education has its own specific problems and ways of dealing with them, which should be through an interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary lens.
This proposal offers an academic model to design, develop, implement and evaluate the academic programs of online education. To this end, the academic model is seen as involving three dimensions: the first consisting of the processes involved in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of online programs as such; the second consisting of the actors who make possible to carry out the design, development, implementation and evaluation process at a given institution; while the third comprises the distinctive elements of this approach, namely the techno-educational support afforded by Didactical-Technological Resources and Auxiliary Learning Materials. In the body of the written paper each dimension is tackled and explained.
