Abstract:
Many universities offer extracurricular activities to their students: sport, cultural, training,… Moreover, many academic departments suggest interesting initiatives for their students to consolidate their knowledge from real business experts. Sometimes, there is an overload schedule of non-academic activities and many students complaint about a huge offer so the question that arises is whether they do really work. The objective of this paper is to analyze the perceptions of the students about extracurricular activities in order to know if they could influence their motivation towards their academic studies. For this reason, the same round table with three young auditors has been proposed in four different universities. At the end of this event, all the participants have answered a survey. Our findings show that extracurricular activities may increase students’ motivation to learning. Moreover, this study sheds light for university organizers in order to know the students’ feedback according to their perceptions and expectations.
