Abstract:
The aim of this work is to describe how video resources can be used as empirical support for improving learning process in subjects related to Food Technology programmes.
The experience is devised as a challenge to introduce video resources in combination with virtual platforms as useful educational resources on a new grade degree on Food Technology at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. It is financed by the project “Nuevas experiencias en Innovación Alimentaria para su consolidación como herramienta para el aprendizaje interactivo”.
First step was the selection of videos with scientific content in line with matching the disciplines involved.
When video duration was over 30 min, they were divided as many pieces as necessary to assure classroom projections to be lower than 20 min.
Next step was to prepare inquiry based on video content, such inquiries being answered just after videos are sawn.
Students will be able to repeat inquiry at home, through virtual Moodle platform in order to make possible for students to evaluate themselves and so set knowledge
The experience has been elaborated during autumn 2011 and will begin on Fall 2012 and will involve three subjects. Keywords:
Video resources, food technology, virtual platform.
