Abstract:
In recent decades, being referred as an alternative, innovative and emerging issue; mobile learning has become well-recognized in the area of education. There have been some attempts to develop applications and teaching pedagogy so as to gain better understanding of mobile learning and practice.

The present study aims to describe the current situation of mobile learning in Turkey, briefly summarizing the implementation policies, political, socio-cultural (readiness to innovation, and conceptualization of mobile learning), and economical challenges as well as limitations as regards usability factor (connectivity, limited interaction possibilities, screen resolutions and so forth). It highlights the existing applications so as to exemplify how Turkey takes part in mobile learning. With the data about learner profiles; categories of applications emerged and national and international projects being done, future mobile projections for life long learning, the results indicate that Turkey has been involved in mobile learning applications and practice.
