Abstract:
This qualitative-quantitative research study investigated the common errors committed by the instructors and professors in test construction. The respondents of the study were the ten subject area coordinators who checked the examination before it is finally reproduced for administration. A researcher-made survey was used to gather the data. It showed that most errors committed by the instructors and professors were the arrangement of choices and packaging of the test, The mean was used to describe the errors committed by the professors and instructors. Hence, the results showed that arranging of the test items and packaging of the test were noted to be partially erroneous. No errors were noted in the format of the test, arrangement of the items and formulation of questions/sentence construction in the true or false test. For the direction of the test, formulation of the questions or sentence construction were noted to have a very minimal errors in terms of multiple choice, identification or fill in the blanks, essay and matching type.
