Abstract:
Students of the Polytechnic University of Valencia acquire a series of knowledge, abilities and skills cutting through the studies they pursue. They are not taught in any specific subject but are worked on and valued transversally to the subjects of their degree. These are 13 common skills for all degrees, because of are called cross-curricular learning outcome (CCLO). Among them are Teamwork and leadership, Critical thinking or the one that concerns us in this work: Ethical, environmental and professional responsibility. This, despite being grouped into a single competence, is actually made up of two dimensions that in many cases are worked on independently.

The aim of this work is to verify the state of acquisition of this cross-curricular learning outcome in the studies, taught at the Higher Technical School of Architecture, that lead to the professional qualification of the architect. The different subjects that work on this competence at its different levels will be identified, detailing the activities used to work on the competence and the mechanisms with which they assess it.

For all this, the Teaching Guides of the subjects involved have been reviewed, an emptying of the results of the reports prepared by the Polytechnic University has been carried out, interviews have been held with the professors who teach the subjects and surveys have been carried out on the students.

The results show that the students acquire the competence, but it is detected that they do not perceive that this competence is being worked on (which gives rise to several interpretations). This shows the ability to improve results that, however, are considered satisfactory. With this goal, a series of proposals will be provided to improve the acquisition of this important transversal competence.
