Abstract:
The purpose of our study was, on the one hand, to promote cooperative learning in the classroom as a learning strategy within the subjects of Communication Techniques and Educational Counselling, Technology and Mass Media in the classroom and Methodological Foundations of Educational Research that belong to the Degrees of Teacher Training in Early years and Primary Education and on the other hand, to know teachers’ opinions about their use of cooperative learning as a teaching strategy in the classroom and the skills achieved with this way of working, alternative to traditional teaching. A total of 38 student-teachers led by the teacher, lived their own cooperative learning experience, developing activities related to practical content of these subjects through individual, small and large group activities, during 8 periods of class (each one for an hour and a half). The results of this experience were very positive, showing the value that student-teachers gave to teamwork, and their use in facilitating a classroom climate that promotes learning and living, as it is a basic and necessary skill for training XXI century citizens. Keywords:
