Abstract:
Modern technologies have been a great help in the teaching process in the recent years. They contribute to improving and accelerating the acquisition of new knowledge, practical skills and habits. They become very valuable and irreplaceable for students of technical fields. They bring a qualitatively higher form of education, shift the possibilities of educating students and increase the efficiency of teachers' work. Currently, the rate of implementation of modern technologies is also increasing at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University in Košice. The Faculty of Civil Engineering is currently expanding the educational process with new modern technologies that enable the innovation of teaching methods, forms of teaching and teaching aids. Modern technologies bring students the opportunity for spatial imagination and the ability to, ‘see, animate‘ simulating reality. The paper points out the possibilities of using mixed reality (MR) in the educational process in teaching subjects focused primarily on the management and planning of construction production. It presents the advantages and points out the benefits of MR for the development of technical knowledge and skills of students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University in Košice.
