Abstract:
The relevance of the study is due to the need for professional training of future foreign language teachers who are confident in their abilities and strive for self-development. A senior mentor can play a significant role in their development, providing timely support, guidance and sharing his experience with future teachers. The purpose of the study is to substantiate feasibility of using scaffolding during students' educational practice, ensuring that they receive support and assistance from the teacher in the learning process, as a result of which students increase their level of independence when performing more complex tasks. The novelty of the study lies in the elaboration of specific educational tactics in future teachers’ training based on the use of scaffolding principles: provide support and guidance at the beginning, gradually cede your role to the student, allowing him to independently cope with tasks and draw conclusions.

The main research methods, in addition to the analysis of scientific literature in the works of domestic and foreign scholars, were methods of observation, personal involvement in the learning process, and generalization of one’s own teaching experience. Educational practice using scaffolding was implemented with second-year students studying German as their main specialty at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University.

The authors presented the results of the survey, which confirmed the assumption that the process of future foreign language teachers’ training will be most effective when using scaffolding technology in the frames of educational practice. Through scaffolding, students learn different approaches and learning strategies. Scaffolding helps students develop the ability to adapt to different types of learners.

Scaffolding proves to help students of pedagogical universities gain experience in delivering lessons independently, thereby preparing for employment at school. Through scaffolding future teachers develop not only professional skills, but also self-confidence. During the course of practical training, students learn to teach material effectively, adapt it to the level of students, and create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment, which helps them feel successful and competent as a teacher.
