Abstract:
The purpose of the current research was explaining the current main vision in the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of students and professors of the career of Graphic Design in the University Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacín, located in the city of Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela, under a holistic methodology and based on the theories of authors such as Bustamante (2009), Aviram (2002), Poole (2001) and Blurton (1999), among others. For that, a descriptive, applied, field and prospective research was conducted with a non-experimental and transeccional design. The population was divided in two (2) groups: seven (7) professors of the Faculty of Informatics Sciences of the institution above mentioned, who teach in the Class G-611 and thirty (30) students of the career Graphic Design registered in that class. The instrument for the recollection of data was a multiple choice questionnaire of twenty (20) items in a Licker kind scale, validated by three (3) experts in ICT and applied in previous researches in the years 2008 and 2009, which obtained a high reliability with the application of the Cronbach Coefficient alpha. Processed the data and applied statistics technics such as arithmetic mean, relative/absolute frequencies and standard deviation, the information was compiled and organized in charts and graphics for analyzing the results, which showed that the current main vision in the use of the ICT of Graphic Design students in the University Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacín is the Apologetic Vision, while professors tended to have an Eclectic Vision, developed by the researcher as a contribution to the generation of new theories.
