Abstract:
In an attempt to address the common tendency to underestimate high school students' capabilities in overcoming challenges associated with their quality of life and educational pursuits, this article offers a systematic literature review on students' self-efficacy and its role as a determinant of educational quality. Through a rigorous analysis of previous studies, this research aims to quantify the influence of student self-management of learning and educational accountability on various metrics of educational quality.

The literature consistently demonstrates a positive correlation between student autonomy and enhanced academic performance, coupled with heightened dedication to the educational process and proactive problem-solving behaviors. This investigation underscores the critical role of promoting self-efficacy within the pedagogical framework as a fundamental aspect of fostering academic excellence. It emphasizes the active involvement of students in addressing educational challenges by identifying issues, formulating action plans, and receiving mentorship. The integration of these findings with evidence of socioeconomic disparities suggests that self-efficacy could serve as a pivotal mechanism for empowering students to surmount these obstacles.

Furthermore, the article presents a case study involving the implementation of Fundación Paraguaya's Education Stoplight in a select number of schools in Paraguay. The Education Stoplight, an innovative self-assessment tool, enables students to engage in reflective practices regarding their educational context, establish personalized goals, and design solutions, thereby activating their potential to contribute to holistic educational success.

The experiences documented from Fundación Paraguaya's implementation of the Education Stoplight initiative support previous findings. The positive outcomes observed following the deployment of this tool underscore its efficacy as a catalyst for fostering student self-efficacy, with self-assessment and guided action planning constituting essential components of its success. The adaptability of the program and its potential applicability across diverse educational contexts highlight promising prospects for its broader implementation and subsequent impact.
