Abstract:
The thesis that we represent in this paper is that the convergence of traditional digital media in education and learning will not yield the expected results unless accompanied by systematic media literacy, adopted by students and teachers, regardless of the area in which they are training. The results of research of use online media content for students of Novi Sad showed that most members of this population inform themselves of events in the country and the world through the Internet, they verify the information on the Internet, and that the Web is mostly used for entertainment and communication, and the least common for creating online media content. Also, research has shown that it is not used enough for learning, making important decisions or taking action. Although, when it comes to learning, the majority of young people rely on the online content, accepted passively and uncritically, and respondents do not use the opportunities of the Web and do not participate in the creation of online content and new knowledge. Research has shown that digital media for online learning is mostly used by students of media studies, and the least common - medical students. Regardless of the fact that most respondents do not use all the possibilities of the Internet and do not participate in the creation of online content, it has been shown that they recognize the importance of interactivity and that it is very highly valued.
