Notion of "investigative journalism" is used to describe a wide range of activities mainly related to research facts about the reality, in order to unveil what makes the pieces hidden behind an event, phenomenon or personality where the final outcome is discovery, explanation, or comlete insight. Aren't that the precise goals of scientific research? Disclosure of laws, observation of causal consequential relations, approval (or denial) of theories and hypotheses, constant expanding human knowledge based on empirical research, confirmed scientific methods and techniques based on verifiable facts and evidence in order to assure the progress of civilization which is a fundamental task of science. Journalistic profession deals with a similar task, when it is understood as a public service, which should provide citizens new knowledge and control of exercising democratic civilizational values of the civil society. Educational curriculums of journalistic subjects, especially when it comes to socially most responsible, investigative, journalism, little attention is given to managing the process of journalistic research, similarities and differences compared to the systematic and already proven methodology of scientific research in the field of social sciences. In this paper we will present applicability of management science research model on control of journalistic research.
